Good value accommodation

Great value accommodation considering beach location and rooms well serviced and maintained.

Wednesday have stayed here before, over 10 years ago and feel the place is now tired and due to be renovated, most likely effected by three years of covid lockdown. Nearby places have a nice look, but are also three times the price, so Besakih is still good value.

Good

An older style good value Balinese resort in a great beachfront location. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a beautiful outlook over the garden from our balcony. The lounge beds under the trees on the beach are great and the restaurant is overlooking the beach.

The air conditioner was old and noisy and needs replacing. The solid wooden door to the balcony also needs upgrading to glass to improve the view from inside the room. The large trees in the pool area have been pruned so it is difficult to find a shady spot to sit.

Good value for money, great location

Even though this hotel is not as upscale as we are used to, we have enjoyed our stay here. It is located right at the beach, with a nice swimming pool and fine restaurant. I enjoyed the Gado Gado at lunch! Rooms are basic, but clean.

The airco didn't work al that well.

The location of the pool is fantastic.

The location of the pool is fantastic. The resort style of the hotel is lovely. A very basic hotel but so relaxing.

A little bit of a miscommunication about the fact that the kids stay for free but Breakfasts are charged. There was no where in writing to state this. However the Hotel did waive this in the end. A bit of a shame the pool bar isn't utilised more. It remained empty all day.

If I stayed again, I would ask for room 215 or 216 closer to pool and beach.

My cottage, 221, was a stand alone cottage in the middle of the resort. The room was clean and tidy and spacious. The bathroom/shower was clean there is a separate sink. In room safe, bar fridge and wardrobe with shelves and hanging space. Outside there was a sitting area with 2 chairs and table. Wifi was average. A/c was good.

There was no atmosphere and the buffet breakfast wasnt a buffet. It may have been quiet but the times I went to the pool there was no effort by the staff to offer drinks or food (as I have found with other hotels). Same with the hotel sun lounges, the staff member sat on his phone or asleep and you had to go and get your own cushions. Im not a snob but when you pay that bit extra for a hotel you expect a bit better service too. The pool/restaurant had no atmosphere but that is either because, like me, people staying there went elsewhere to eat and drink because of the service. No music. On check out, the duty manager, Robert, asked for feedback and we discussed the good and bad.

Everything...staff were attentive..property was well kept tidy and clean, rooms were clean and fresh, air con was cold, pool was absolutely perfect, breakfasts were fresh tasty and very good choices, staff were friendly and couldnt do enough for you..personalised service..would definately stay again and make this place my first choice over all properties

Good location, facilities ok, not bad value, but mixed experience for me

The location on the beach is of course good. Front office staff were excellent - professional and gracious. Went above and beyond what I expected to help me with a couple of things. Breakfast was a good value, being included in the room. Selection of foods was good. The hotel grounds were pleasant and pretty well kept. My room facilities (furniture, ac, tv, etc.)were fine, about what I expected for the price of the room. Daily housekeeping was good.

My room had chemical crystals placed on the bathroom floor drain. Maybe disinfectant/sanitation, maybe insect poison? Really, really strong harsh smell. Closing the bathroom reduced the smel in the room, but not enough. I tried removing them. And then discovered there was a horrible smell of rotting plants coming out of the drain. So I had to put some of them back. Had to checkout of hotel after 2nd morning as the chemicals were too irritating for my lungs. Restaurant staff seemed disinterested. Not just during the included breakfast, but also at other times for paid meals or drinks. Very odd, especially In contrast to excellent front desk and housekeeping’s staff. Almost all restaurant guests smoked cigarettes. I found it hard to get away from the smell of cigarette smoke. Not really the hotel’s fault. Just something to know. It’s a problem I’ve had at most restaurants in Sanur, as well as on the beach and walking in the streets. Also, the restaurant staff would clear off tables after guests left, and wipe the table clean, but the leave the used ashtray sitting on the table (full of smoking butts and still stinking) instead of putting down a clean one. One morning In frustration I picked up a couple of the ones near me and took them over to a staff person. At first she was clueless, didn’t understand that I wanted to hand them to her to take away, but finally took them from me

My two daughters and I LOVED our week at the Besakih. Will definitely be booking again.

The location was outstanding. Right in the heart of Sanur, with a private beach. Hotel rooms had older decor (which I liked), rooms were very clean. Great Wifi connection. Excellent aircon - too cold at first. You are warned not to leave valuables in your room, the hotel provides security boxes at the 24 hour reception, which we used with no concerns. The food at the hotel restaurant was beautiful. Staff were exceptionally friendly and the coffee was delicious. Breakfast overlooking the beachfront every morning was a very special time of day. Gorgeous gardens and pool area. The little hotel library was a lovely surprise to find. Staff at reception were very helpful with booking taxis and providing sightseeing advice.

Initially was disappointed with the bathroom. It could do with a regrout, but that was my initial impression, aesthetics only. Everything in the bathroom was functional, and the shower had great hot water supply. I was a little apprehensive with booking this hotel due to some of the past reviews. Now having been there, I truly do not know why some of the past reviews are so negative. It is a 3 star hotel, in a 5 star location. If you want 5 star you have to pay for it. The hotel exceeded my expectations.

The beds were very comfy, close to shops and restaurants and the massages on the beach were amazing!

Nice relaxing stay.

Pool was great. Location was on the beach which meant you got a nice breeze.

Unfortunately the sea was not great for swimming because of rubbish and weeds.
